About the Print
This watercolor painting came to life on the shores of Takhlakh Lake in Washington. Mt. Adams makes itself known in a big way under the starlight of the Milky Way overhead.
The Canvas Duffel
If a chameleon could transfigure into a bag, it would probably look something like this. Yeah, that sounds kinda weird but hear us out.
Use it as your international carry-on travel companion, pack your harness, draws, and snacks and take it to the climbing crag, load it with your laptop, lunch, and workout gear and rock it as your daily commuter - the Canvas Duffel adapts to whatever environment you can throw at it.
With a bottom panel that unzips and stows away to reveal an ergonomic backpack harness, the duffel surprised even us on the FRE team at the number of activities we use it for. Include some absolutely gorgeous artwork and you have the most functional, versatile, and beautiful duffel in existence. Yeah, we’re not biased at all.
The Canvas Series
The Canvas Series is a Free Range collaboration with artists who live to get lost in the mountains. A portion of each sale goes directly back to the artist who painted/illustrated/imagined your print.
Made in Vietnam.
- One main compartment, two large internal pockets, two small external pockets.
- Stow-able backpack harness hidden underneath bottom panel.
- Removable over-the-shoulder strap for cross-body carry.
- With a little persuasion it will fit in a carry-on size checker thing (that's the technical term right?) at the airport.

First and foremost, your pack requires daily walks and adventures in order to maintain its well-being. And if you uphold these responsibilities, you may notice a light yet persistent layer of grubbiness form on the vibrant colors of your pack. When this happens, it may be time to give it the ol' scrub-a-dub. We've put together a short instructional video for your entertainment. Please enjoy.
- Remove backpad.
- Use any "grease" removal laundry detergent (here we use Spray & Wash with great success). Apply directly on pack or onto a rag or sponge and scrub vigorously over any dirty areas.
- Let the detergent soak in for about 5 minutes.
- Toss in the laundry. We recommend using hot water and then just not showering for a couple days to make up for it.
My name is Christina Russell and I am an artist and wound/ostomy nurse in Hood River, Oregon. When not working at the hospital or painting to my heart's content, I love to spend time outside multi-day rafting and paddling, kiteboarding, snowkiting in the front (and backcountry), and backpacking with family.

She loves it!
Love it! Just the right size and light, but strong!
I absolutely love my Free Range Bags! We all need durable bags but these are GORGEOUS and functional. I want more....
I absolutely love my free range duffel. High quality stitching and solid fabric. But, clearly the artwork is the draw! I want to order additional bags just for the variety. I found it hard to choose between the different graphics because I like them all!
