About the Print

The Pack incited us to soar with it among the distant peaks. It was instinct that called for us to go, to joyously run headlong through the snow. "The Pack" was originally created for Tin Pan Alley Public Art Collection in Bend, OR.

The Canvas Phanny

Did you hear?? The 90s are back in style, so here's our throwback contribution: the Canvas Phanny Pack (yes, that spelling is correct, thank you).

We went to great lengths to design something that allows you to carry your phone, wallet, keys, and kool-aid like it's 1999. Fast forward a couple decades and you can now rock the most functional pack ever, with your choice of prints from some radical artists. Wear it mountain biking, running, hiking, skiing, around town or generally anytime you need a little extra carrying capacity just above the hips.

To summarize, the Canvas Phanny pack is 100% practical and 10% nerdy - which adds to 110% totally tubular. Party on!!

The Canvas Series

The Canvas Series is a Free Range collaboration with artists who live to get lost in the mountains. A portion of each sale goes directly back to the artist who painted/illustrated/imagined your print.

Care Instructions

First and foremost, your pack requires daily walks and adventures in order to maintain its well-being. And if you uphold these responsibilities, you may notice a light yet persistent layer of grubbiness form on the vibrant colors of your pack. When this happens, it may be time to give it the ol' scrub-a-dub. We've put together a short instructional video for your entertainment. Please enjoy.

  1. Remove backpad.
  2. Use any "grease" removal laundry detergent (here we use Spray & Wash with great success). Apply directly on pack or onto a rag or sponge and scrub vigorously over any dirty areas.
  3. Let the detergent soak in for about 5 minutes.
  4. Toss in the laundry. We recommend using hot water and then just not showering for a couple days to make up for it.
  5. Voila!

Meet the Artist

Megan Marie Myers

I am a painter and illustrator working in picture book illustration, fine art, and commercial illustration. I reproduce my work into a variety of keepsakes inspired by the outdoors and the connection we have to our natural surroundings and to each other.

My vision for the artwork is to cultivate connection between all people and nature through art; I hope to inspire deep love and appreciation for wilderness and encourage the protection of our only home. When I’m not making art, I’m lacing up my kicks to head out on a trail run in Bend, Oregon where I live with my significant other and beloved pets.

Best ever fannypack!

I am a 65 year old avid Colorado hiker and I love this pack. I grew up with the Fanny pack back in the late 80s. After 30 yrs. Never thought I would buy another one! But along comes Free Range gear. I use this pack as my everyday purse and on short hikes. It is amazing how much this pack holds. Best part it’s hands free, and as a great old broad, I never lose my purse! PS I also get ton of compliments on the mountain design from fellow Colorado ladies.

Great all around Phanny pack

Ample room, generous adjustable strap, amazing design and beautiful art. What more could you want from a phanny pack? Nothing. It's perfect and I use it as my daily run around bag, fits all the things without feeling cumbersome or bulky. Be prepared for people to stop you on the street asking you were you got it.
