As an artist and outdoor adventurer, Carrie Pill is moved to paint both what she sees and what she feels. Painting outdoors allows her to capture that expression in the moment. Skiing, biking, and hiking often lead her to some of the most painting-worthy scenery. With her body in motion and breathing in the mountain air, she more readily sees paintings in the landscape before her.

Carrie grew up in Watertown, New York, and later moved to Vermont to attend Green Mountain College, where she earned a BFA in Studio Art. Her work has been featured by Ski Magazine, Outdoor Painter, Northern Woodlands, and the Vermont Almanac. When she is not painting outdoors, en plein air, Carrie works from her home studio in Rutland, Vermont.
