I first saw a Free Range pack on Rachel Pohl at the Outdoor Gear Show in Denver this year. I couldn't be happier to support artist and a company like Free Range. Today, my daughter and I received a wonderful Megan Marie Myers artwork Free Range backpack and a Rachel Pohl's Northern Lights Fanny pack. I chose Megan's design because I love wolves and my daughter is already stuffing her bag with goodies. Thank you for placing beautiful art on bags/packs you can take anywhere.
I used to admire this pack with Rachel Pohl's art on it constantly online, and then I finally decided I had to have one of my own. I absolutely love supporting artists and wearable, functional art is the absolute best! I've worn my pack around town, on day hikes, and it's my favorite carry-on for plane trips. Thank you for making a super durable high quality piece of equipment that supports an artist I adore!!!
This pack is such a multipurpose piece of gear. The style is obvious, but functionality is second to none. Back pad gives it perfect comfort and form, and pocket location makes it a great day pack. I use it for everything from hauling my after work ride clothes with me to the office, to bringing lunch and beer with me on longer bike rides. Super functional pack!
I wore my free range backpack with Rachel Pohls painting of the snowy mountain cabin, to work at Steamboat Ski Resort and I get compliments on it everyday! Sturdy, with lots of pockets. I only wish it came in a slightly bigger size.
This pack is a wonder-- not only is it the perfect size for a solid day hike or ski trip, it is so comfortable-- easy to distribute weight bearing and load even on the move. So far this pack has been perfect for trips up Smith Rock, traversing the Oregon Country Fair, braving the windy deluges in Portland, carrying books and gear to class, packing home groceries on my bike...multi-talented pack! I've worn the HECK out of mine for the past 6 months and it has held up beautifully: seams, zippers, canvas, straps all still look fresh and work smoothly. In all seriousness I have taken to carrying some Free Range Equipment business cards in the secret inner compartment to give to folks who stop me on the trail to ask where I got my pack!! and the artwork is magnificent. Thank you Free Range folks! The ONLY downside to these packs is deciding which one to choose!
